A young soldier I met in Atlanta asked me to create something for his wife. He was being deployed to Afghanistan, and she was terribly worried.
The poem reads:
“When we are parted
and you see this drawing
may you know that this hand
contains my heart,
as I reach through time
with infinite faith
that you and I
will be joined again.”
